On January 1, 2015, Section 17 of the “Swedish Work Environment Authority’s provisions and general advice on use of chainsaws and brushcutters”
(AFS 2012: 1) came into force. According to Section 17, the person who works with a motorized chainsaw must have passed a theoretical and practical test showing that he or she has knowledge corresponding to the tasks to be performed.
The course is aimed at anyone who regularly uses chainsaws at work or at leisure, as well as forest owners, forest workers and contractors.
To participate in the education, you must be 16 years old.
The course aims to provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to be able to use chainsaws safely.
Review of safety regulations, protective equipment, work techniques, care and maintenance of equipment and other theoretical and practical information you need to know in order to be able to perform work with chainsaws during simpler woodcutting.
Chainsaw A + B is 1 day.
Chainsaw A is 5 hours.
Upon passing the practical and theoretical exams, proof of education is issued in form of printed plastic card.
